In our summary, we provide an insight into the use of modern nuclear medicine in everyday oncology practice, presenting new diagnostic options beyond the already widespread ”conventional” FDG PET/CT, new developments in perioperative care, and modern hybrid imaging techniques in radiotherapy planning. In a separate chapter, the current state of teranostics and promising developments in areas such as prostate and neuroendocrine tumours are discussed. Finally, we provide an insight into the new developments that are expected in the near future, with a special focus on FAPI and estrogen-based imaging.
